At the Early Learning Centre (ELC) the teaching and learning is based on the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) Framework and the Australian National Early Years Learning Framework. In addition to that, we infuse our daily activities with the Reggio Emilia approach.
Our aim is to extend and enrich children’s learning from two to five years and ensure a smooth transition to Foundation Year. We believe that our programmes provide all children the best start in life, equipping them with knowledge and skills to create a better future for themselves and for their world.
Our Early Years programs have a specific emphasis on inquiry and play based learning. It recognises the importance of communication, social and emotional development. Play-based learning is a context for learning through which children organise and make sense of their social worlds, as they engage actively with people, objects and representations. We work in partnership with families; children’s first and most influential educators.
Our goal is that all our young students become:
- Successful learners
- Confident and creative individuals
- Active and informed citizens.
Children joining our ELC 2/3/4 programs participate in hands on activities, discoveries and explorations. We put great emphasis on authentic learning experiences, therefore every child’s voice is heard and respected. The children are at the centre of everything we do.
