At the Early Learning Centre (ELC) the teaching and learning is based on the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) Framework and the Australian National Early Years Learning Framework.

In addition to that, we infuse our daily activities with the  Reggio Emilia approach. This is a specialised philosophy focused on preschool education. This is student centred and builds a love of learning. The program is based on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and self discovery.

Our aim is to extend and enrich children’s learning from two to five years and ensure a smooth transition to Foundation Year.

We believe that our programmes provide all children the best start in life, equipping them with knowledge and skills to create a better future for themselves and for their world.

Our Early Years programs have a specific emphasis on inquiry and play based learning.

It recognises the importance of communication, social and emotional development. Play-based learning is a context for learning through which children organise and make sense of their social worlds, as they engage actively with people, objects and representations.

We work in partnership with families; children’s first and most influential educators.

Our goal is that all our young students become:

Successful learners
Confident and creative individuals
Active and informed citizens.

Children joining our ELC 2/3/4 programs participate in hands on activities, discoveries and explorations.

We put great emphasis on authentic learning experiences, therefore every child’s voice is heard and respected.

The children are at the centre of everything we do.

We welcome interested parents

Specialist Program in the Early Years

Our Early Years students take part in an innovative specialist program that allows them to continue their journey towards awakening their full potential. This is achieved through the exploration of Music, PE, Swimming, and Languages and Culture.

Languages and Culture

During two, 20 minutes sessions every day, students are immersed in the language and traditions of both the Khmer and Chinese cultures.

Students spend one, 30 minute session each week listening and responding to music through the use of movement and dance. They also begin to explore how instruments can be used to recreate music and sound.

For 30 minutes, four times a week, students are exposed to a range of different sports, exercises and games. This allows them to develop fine and gross motor skills, as well as a genuine love for physical activity.

Through the use of our state of the art swimming facilities, students spend one, 40 minute session each week developing an understanding of water safety and increasing their confidence in the water.
