To avoid the spread of COVID-19 to the schools and community, the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports decides to temporarily close all private educational institutions for 2 weeks from the date of this announcement.
As you are aware, there have been 6 cases of Covid, all related to the same Cambodian family, discovered over the weekend. This resulted in AEON 1 mall being closed for several days, as of Saturday evening – 28th November – for sanitizing, as the woman was reported to have been there on 21st November.
We are so excited to be able to welcome your children back to school on Monday, November 23, 2020 with everyone safe and healthy in the community.
With the 3rd November’s incident came to a conclusion, the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports decided to approve the resumption of public and private educational institutions in Phnom Penh and central area of Kandal Province from 23rd November 2020 onwards.
As most of you are aware, the Ministry of Education, Youth & Sports (MoEYS) declared over the weekend that all schools in Phnom Penh and Kandal province must follow a 2 week quarantine.
Due to the lack of information and cooperation from the affected parents and guardians, the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports has not been able to gather sufficient information on the affected 900 parents and guardians who were directly and indirectly in contact with the Hungarian Delegation, and their children studying in public and private educational institutions.
We are all excited to have our October holiday week next week. I want to wish all of you a restful and fun time with family and friends. Please travel carefully, knowing that there are flooding issues currently in the country.
It has been so nice having all the students back learning; Secondary Years, Primary Years and Early Years – we certainly missed having all the students on campus. Well done to all students for following the Ministry of Education’s guidelines on how we learn in the classroom and interact on campus. Your dedication to wearing your mask, washing your hands, remaining socially distant and following many new rules has been so impressive.
We are so excited to finally have all of our students back on campus. All of our students and staff follow the highest levels of safety and hygiene measures (sanitiser sprays, mask wearing, social distancing, temperature checks, etc.) to ensure the health and safety of our community and to allow us to continue to provide a world class education to all our students.
As you have seen, we are following the regulations from the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports with cleanliness, social distancing, temperature checks, masks and so on. The children have been great about following these new instructions, and I am really proud of the teachers and how they have supported your children and one another with these new habits also.
