The Early Years (EYLF)

At the Early Learning Centre (ELC) teaching and learning is based on the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) framework and the Australian National Early Years Learning Framework.

Our daily activities are focused on a student centred approach which builds a lifelong love of learning. Our programme is based on the principles of respect, responsibility and community through exploration and self-discovery.

Our aim is to extend and enrich children’s learning from two to five years and ensure a smooth transition to Foundation Year.

We believe that our programme provides all children the best start in life, equipping them with knowledge and skills to create a better future for themselves and for their world.

Our Early Years programme has a specific emphasis on inquiry and a play-based learning.

It recognises the importance of communication, along with social and emotional development. The Play-based learning is a context for learning through which children organise and make sense of their social worlds, as they engage actively with people, objects and representations.

We work in partnership with families, children’s first and most influential educators.

Our goal is that all our young students become:

Children joining our ELC 2/3/4 classes participate in hands-on activities, discoveries, and explorations.

We put great emphasis on authentic learning experiences; therefore, every child’s voice is heard and respected.

The children are at the center of everything we do. We welcome interested parents.
