From the Secondary Principal

It is a joy being the Secondary Principal at AISPP. I get to be part of a vibrant and caring community, and I work alongside talented educators and dedicated IB practitioners who are deeply committed to helping our students explore their potential and thrive in academics, sports, the arts, and service.

With more than twenty-five years of experience in education, including eighteen years in international schools, I understand that learning is most meaningful when students feel known, supported, and inspired to be curious – in the knowledge that it is through taking risks and making mistakes that we learn. This aligns closely with AISPP’s holistic approach, where personalized, inquiry-based learning nurtures students’ intellectual, emotional, and social development. This philosophy underpins everything we do as a learning community.

One of the greatest rewards of working in education is seeing young people discover their capabilities. To that end, we value academic rigour, yet we do not believe it is mutually exclusive with joyful, inquiry-based learning. We make learning relevant and filled with chances to ask questions, solve authentic problems, work collaboratively, and think creatively. Our students are challenged, encouraged, and supported by teachers who know them well and use evidence-informed practice to guide learning. As a result, they develop strong academic foundations alongside the confidence, resilience, and character to thrive beyond school. Through diversity, inclusion, international-mindedness, and meaningful service, our students also grow into compassionate, capable, and responsible global citizens.

At AISPP, we believe that the strength of any school lies in its community, and its success is built on the collective contributions of students, families, faculty, staff, and the wider community. When everyone works together with a shared sense of purpose, schools become places where individuals flourish, meaningful learning thrives, and lasting relationships are formed. Over the past two years, it has been a privilege to contribute not only to the growth of our community, but also to the school’s development in other areas. It is energising to be part of a school that continues to evolve, embraces new possibilities, and is always looking for ways to improve while staying true to its values.

I look forward to welcoming both new and returning families to another exciting year at AISPP and to celebrating the many achievements, big and small, that make our Secondary community such a special place to learn and grow. Every member of our community brings unique strengths and perspectives, and together we will continue to inspire curiosity, embrace new challenges, and support each of our students to become the very best version of themselves. We believe that strong partnerships are at the heart of every successful school, and our doors are always open to students, families, and colleagues as we continue this journey together.
